Etiquette

T-Golf® makes you a part of a game that is rich in heritage and tradition. Golf Courses can be intimidating for many people. Here are some helpful tips to make your golf day a more enjoyable experience:

  1. T-Golf® is a game for ladies and gentleman. Words and phrases like excuse me, thank you, pardon me and please are commonplace for those who play T-Golf®.

  2. T-Golfers always exercise the highest levels of sportsmanship.

  3. T-Golfers are always respectful of other players and golf course employees.

  4. T-Golfers do everything in their power to not distract other players.

  5. T-Golfers always strive to encourage their fellow players.

  6. T-Golfers never stand or move in an area that a player making a stroke can see them.

  7. T-Golfers are always quiet while a player is making a stroke.

  8. T-Golfers pick up a rake, enter and exit sand traps at their lowest point. (After you hit the ball, just follow your footprints out of the trap as you rake.) This conscious effort helps maintain the golf course. Also, T-Golfers always rake the sand trap in a meticulous way so that the next player in the trap is not penalized by a "bad" rake job. The rake is then placed outside of the sand trap and near the low point for entrance.

  9. T-Golfers always repair the "ball mark" that is created when a ball lands on the green. This is done in a careful way so that the green is put back to its' original form.

  10. T-Golfers never place their T-Golf® Tee onto a green.

  11. T-Golfers pay attention to the direction of their shadows on the green. Shadows decrease a player's ability to see the "line" of their putt. The line is simply the direction from the ball to the hole. An individuals shadow should never cross another player's line. In addition, a player should never step on the "line" of another player's putt.

  12. T-Golfers always yell "Fore" when they hit an errant shot in the direction of other players.

  13. T-Golfers always turn their backs on the direction in which someone has yelled "Fore". (You do not want to get hit in the face with the ball. Look away!)

  14. T-Golfers always keep pace with the group ahead of them. They never allow a full hole to separate them from that group. If one full hole should open up in front of T-Golfers they should allow the following group to pass through if they desire to. A simple, "Excuse me would you like to play through?", is all it takes.

  15. T-Golfers pay specific attention to "Cart Directional" signs and never operate golf carts in a dangerous way.

  16. T-Golfers never drive carts through puddles or soft areas such as operating sprinklers on the course.

  17. T-Golfers always adhere to the local "Dress Code". Most golf courses do not allow metal spikes, T-Shirts, cut-off shorts, etc. T-Golfers always place a telephone call to the pro shop if they have any questions concerning the golf courses' local rules.

  18. T-Golfers always notify the pro-shop if they are running late or canceling a tee-time.

  19. T-Golfers read "The Rules of Golf" as published annually by the USGA.

  20. T-Golfers are able to join others who are using traditional golf clubs.

  21. T-Golfers always play from the Forward Tees or the 200 or 150 or 100 yard markers until they are ready to graduate to the next level. This will help speed up the pace of play and make the day more enjoyable for everyone.

  22. T-Golfers have FUN and SOCIALIZE!
